Think. Create. Validate. Experience.

Flight training and new experiences through accessible tools, expertise & community.

We share a thinking that the full potential of flight simulation can be realised when we start with the real thing. At COWS, our work is directly informed through our experiences in the aircraft we recreate.

Team

Move Fast. Break Sh*t.

Mitchell Chen

3D Artist | MSFS & X-Plane

Based in northern Utah, Mitchell is a Utah State alumni and flight instructor. Ever since he was young, he fell in love with flight simulation and looks skyward for an aviation career. He also loves sketching, skiing, and teaching on the side. In flight simulation, Mitchell’s experience is expedited through freelance work. He has a particular affinity to aesthetics and design, making him the prime candidate for visual development.

Thomas Meixner

Systems & Flightmodel  | MSFS

Based in Austria, Thomas is a mechanical engineer and ATPL student. With his secondary school next to an airport, the smell of jet fuel never left his mind. Known for his relentless efforts to improve the flight sim experience for all since the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator, Thomas possess a deep understanding of aerodynamics, electrics, mechanics, and a DIY attitude; he can solve any problem thrown at him.

Boris Vanian

Audio Engineering | MSFS & X-Plane

Based from the Washington DC area, Boris is currently an instrument rated pilot, and a Purdue student. He aspires to be an airline pilot and to acquire his A&P mechanic certificate. In flight simulation, he has been developing flight simulator audio since 2020. Some of Boris’ most prominent projects have been the Flybywire A32NX, FlightFX Vision Jet, and a few other general aviation sound sets.

John Shnoda

Systems & UI | MSFS

Based in the NYC Metro Area, John is an instrument-rated private pilot and undergraduate student pursuing a career in aviation. His passion began with FS2000, introduced by his brother, and was fueled by growing up under NYC airport flight paths. Known for his real-world insights and avionics knowledge, he integrates airframe-specific features into systems like the Garmin G1000 NXi.

Peter Tram

Design & Marketing | MSFS & X-Plane

Based in Sydney, Australia, Peter is a graphic designer with skills in web development with a background in industrial design. Being involved with flight simulation development since 2010, some of Peter’s works in flight simulation includes branding work for Threshold, and LevelUp with aircraft development, alongside some airliner projects he experimented through a previous brand called Aerobridge Studios.

Jacob Webb

Programmer | X-Plane

Based in the UK, Jacob holds a Commercial Pilot’s Licence. Flying, flight simulation and computer engineering are Jacob’s three main passions, which he put into action through a collaboration with Mitchell on a DA40 and DA42 for X-Plane, kick-starting the beginning of COWS along with Peter. At COWS, Jacob develops the COWS NXi, a bespoke recreation of the G1000NXi, systems, and flightmodelling for X-Plane products.
